11 days/ 10 nights/ 7 rounds of golf, from/to Geneva

Geneva- Chéserex- Montreux- Crans-Montana- Zermatt- Ascona- Geneva

Day 1 – Geneva, individual arrival
After picking up your rental car, there is enough time to discover the international city, home to the UNO and the ICRC headquarters. Your first night will be spent in this metropolis on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Day 2 – Geneva/ Chéserex (30 km)
A fairly short journey through beautiful vineyards with an impressive view of the Savoy Alps and Mont-Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe (4,792 m), brings you to Cheserex. Enjoy a first round of golf on the beautiful ‘castle course’ of Bonmont (18 holes, par 71, length 6,080 m). You will spend the night in the charming village of Chéserex.

Day 3 – Chéserex/ Montreux (70 km)
The journey continues along glittering Lake Geneva. Vineyards and wine taverns invite guests to linger, but at the same time the mountains and beautiful golf courses are attractions not to be missed. Take in impressive view of the Alps at Lavaux Golf Club; its course is situated directly next to a small lake (18 holes, par 72, length 6,107 m). You will spend the night in world-famous Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Day 4 – Montreux/ Crans Montana (96 km)
On your way to Valais, stop off at the Montreux golf course in the vicinity of Aigle. The second oldest golf course in Switzerland has impressive views and an old tree population (18 holes, par 72, length 6,207 m). After the game, continue through the Rhône Valley to the sunny plateau of Crans Montana, a top destination where a hotel room has been reserved for you for the following two nights.

Day 5 – Crans Montana
At an altitude of 1,500 m, the golf balls will fly a little further! Every year, the golf course, founded in 1906, is host to the tournament with the highest prize money in Switzerland. The championship course was redesigned by Severiano Ballesteros and offers spectacular views and especially fast greens (18 holes, par 72, length 6,341 m). Right next to it, the varied 9-hole Jack Nicklaus course invites golfers to a supplementary round (par 35, length 2,779 m).

Day 6 – Crans Montana/ Zermatt (76 km)
The journey continues in the Valais. Driving down to the valley in the direction of Visp, you will pass through breathtaking ravines and typical Valais villages as you head towards the world-famous Matterhorn (4,478 m). Play a round of golf on the course of the same name, the Matterhorn Golf Club (9 holes, par 36, length 2,931 m). The course, although fairly new, provides a very pleasant round of golf. The rest of the day will be at your disposal. You will spend two nights in Zermatt, right at the foot of the Matterhorn. The village is carfree, but can easily be reached by train (car park in Täsch).

Day 7 – Zermatt
A golf-free day amidst 38 mountains over 4,000 m. Enjoy for instance a trip to the peak of the small Matterhorn (3,850 m) or the Gornergrat (3,089 m).

 Day 8 – Zermatt/ Ascona (around 194 km)
From the Valais Alps to Ticino: a varied drive through the Rhône Valley and the region of Goms, passing across the Nufenen Pass to reach the sunny side of Switzerland. On the fairly new golf course of Gerre Losone numerous olive trees create a Mediterranean atmosphere and water hazards and natural stone obstacles make the course particularly interesting (18 holes, par 71, length 6,250 m). Your hotel for the following two nights is in nearby Ascona on the shores of Lago Maggiore.

Day 9 – Ascona
A beautiful, traditional flat parkland course close to the lake (18 holes, par 71, length 5,933 m) awaits you. After the game, you will have enough time to discover the picturesque lanes of Ascona. The town of Locarno or an excursion across the border to Italy are also worth visiting.

Day 10 – Ascona/ Geneva (310 km)
Leaving the beautiful South, a spectacular route passes through the Centovalli to Domodossola (Italy) and continues across the Simplon Pass to take you back to the Canton of Valais. Enjoy once again the Rhône Valley and the vineyards along Lake Geneva. You will spend the last night in Geneva again, rounding off your holiday in the city’s international flair.

A short drive brings you to the airport. After returning the rental car, it is time to check in for your return flight.
